Tourism

Tourism is an act of spending time in another place that we never see on live. By going their we will get exited and we can relax joyfully there. The place is very new to us we can feel excitement  and we can enjoy. Actually every human being love to explore new things new taste and new places. We spend money to explore these places some of the places are having great history like Taj mahal. Some places are in the part of nature and some of them are man made. Mostly every body's dream is that to visit 7 wonders in the world. My dream is to visit all tourist places in India for now. Tourism means people are eventually visiting a particular city or place which is having a great history.

Introduction about dark tourism

 Dark Tourism is identified as a tourism involving travel to historic places associated with death and tragedy. Recently it was suggested that concept should also include reasons tourists visits that site and the site's attributes alone may not make a visitor as a dark tourist. The main and important value of this dark places is that the historic value of the place rather than their associations with death and suffering. Holocaust tourism contains both dark and Heritage tourism.


Some of the Example Destinations 

Destinations of Dark tourism includes castles and battlefields such as Culloden in Scotland and Barn Castle and Poienari Castle in Romina. Former prisons such as Beaumaris prison in Anglesey, Whales and the Jack the ripper Exhibition in the London Dungeon. Some of the man made disasters happen in Hiroshima Peace Memorial park in Japan. Kargil war happened  in India it is also an example of dark economy. Gruesome destinations in  India that can give us nightmares. 




  

 The above picture shows Auschwitz, the 9/11 Memorial in New York, to the Killing Fields in Cambodia, the unhappiest and most tragedy-stricken places on earth have become sites of morbid fascination. Although certainly not a new phenomenon, this billion-dollar industry is now collectively referred to as “dark tourism”. The term itself, a juxtaposition between death and the hedonistic ideas of ‘tourism’, signals the ethical issues concerning this paradoxical allure- for individuals looking to indulge their place, there remains a strong desire to ignore the subject itself.






Benefits of Dark tourism 

  • Social Benefits : Social Benefits has a relation to activates in which people meet and spend time with other people are living together in organized way. Social benefits in the sense of social responsibility to darker motivates to darker motives like violence and suffering. Tourism generates income for a betterment of education and infrastructure. Some people think Dark Economy cannot bring nothing good to the local community as profits generated some of the people are keeping shops and all of them are doing their small businesses and earn money from the tourist. Some of the business like selling organic products, handicrafts and else. They will also promote local community may aid to boost countries economy.

  • Learning Benefits :  Learning refers to any sensation or knowledge acquisition resulting from a person`s participation in daily activities. Definition of experience is related to learning elements. For instance, learning elements are predominant namely, an individual sensation involving knowledge acquisition resulting from participating in activities and differing from one another. Learning is considered a foundation and source of experience. The importance of informal learning, which occurs incidentally and unintentionally through exposure to one's environment and day-to-day experiences. First, Dark Tourism can be used for educational purpose where awareness and encouragement can be shown to younger generations. By raising our awareness of horrific events in the past.


  • Psychological benefits :Psychological sense is related to the tourism experiences as people will experience deep emotion and feelings in dark tourism sites. Psychological benefits of the leisure travel experience come from the interplay of escaping and seeking dimensions. Psychological benefits are derived from experiences in heritage or museum settings or DT sites. In DT, the value of an experience is understood as a visitor`s psychological benefits and emotional reactions (McIntosh, 1999). Feelings, reactions, motivations, satisfactions and desired psychological outcomes are related to tourism experience. In satisfactory experience, visitors will gain all benefits in physical, learning and psychological. As a result, visitors who participate in DT may achieve the desired needs to acquire suitable and satisfactory experiences. First, it will strengthen their relationship and they will be more aware of the importance of family. The most important thing in this life is quality type of relationship with family and friends. Visitors are more likely goes to death sites with their family members or friends to explore equipment such as original weapon, article, ancestors and the old clothes. They will feel blessed and thankful.

Dark Tourism(DT) leads to negative social problems such as the occurrence of sexual activities due to abandoned sites, DT also help to create job opportunities for local community and to generate income for government should the sites are properly managed. Moreover, DT activities are able to provide valuable information and first-hand experience. Based on the questionnaire surveys conducted, majority of the respondents very well agree to the fact that DT brings social, psychological and learning benefits to many. It is safe to say that DT contributes sufficient benefits which may aid to the raid development of this new tourism sector in the future. Last but not least, the awareness on the benefits of DT should also be raised through platforms such as social media and articles for more effective communication.
